Nr Cerne Abbas – Lyons Gate – a Fishery too!

Wareham Forest – Carey Camp – super place and easy to access much walking

On the A37 nr Dorchester – Clay Pigeon – book thru the new hotel!

West Dorset – Bagwell Farm – near the sea and very friendly staff

Cranborne Chase – Church Farm – public campsite – earplugs for light sleepers!

Nr Shaftesbury – Blackmore Vale Camping – public campsite – behind the garage

Stourton Caundle – The Trooper Inn – Camping and Caravanning Club – worth ringing if stuck

Cerne Abbas – Giants Head – not been there for a few years – good location but limited for dofe

Renscombe, Purbeck – Poole and Dorset Adventure Centre – bunks and camping

New Forest – Red Shoot Camping Park – behind the pub!

Quantocks – Moorhouse – not visited yet – plans for next year but sound very helpful and have a site at West Bagborough too

Okehampton, N Dartmoor – YHA – become a YHA Member and enjoy good camping rates to include inside access to loos, showers, games room, lounge and self catering kitchen

Powdermills and Dewerstone Bunkhouses – Spirit of Adventure – great winter training bases

Postbridge, Dartmoor – Runnage Farm – bunkhouses very useful in the winter!

Princetown, Dartmoor – Plume of Feathers – can be midgy in the small camping area

Farmsites on Dartmoor – very basic and sometimes a bit poohy – go with an open mind!
